H.f. grounded emitter transistor amplifier output stages suffer from various defects resulting from the collector base capacitance, including the generation of unwanted harmonics, and the circuit presented helps to remove these. The compensation circuit consists simply of a capacitance diode (9) connected between one primary terminal of an output transformer (2) of which the other primary terminal is attached to the transistor (1) collector (C) in a grounded emitter amplifier output stage and the transistor (1) base (B). A bias voltage (UCC') is also provided. The feedback characteristic of the diode is such that the collector base capacitance is made largely voltage dependent, and the non-linear effects in the stage reduced accordingly.
|
