The cover (2) incorporates a safety valve (13) held closed by a torsion spring (14, 15). An operating gap points away from the user. In the cover handle is a cam (31), pivoting at its base and having teeth (29) on its upper perimeter. A pin (32) on one side contacts the cranked portion (33) of the torsion spring. When the vessel is sealed, the upper handle (4) engages in a slot in the lower handle (3). This brings a stop (48) against the cam teeth and turns it against a spring loaded finger (40, 44) in the base. The torsion spring is tightened by the pin and closes the safety valve.
