The skidding prevention disc is for use in snow or soft ground and has a cylindrical casing (1a) with a circular plate (16). A disc (2) mounted within the casing has six metal links (4) pivoted to its circumference. The links are in turn hinged to fins (3) which project perpendicularly through holes in the wall of the casing. As the disc is rotated to the casing the fins project or retract. This action is performed by a hydraulic piston working on a rod connected to two holes (7) in the disc. The casing plate is bolted to the wheel hub and the whole assembly rests next to the tyre.
