<p>The shock and vibration absorbing suspension element consists of two U section members (1,2) one (1) fixed to the machine (8) and the other (2) to the ground or support frame (9). One flange of each section is fixed to the machine, or ground and the free flanges overlap each other so that an S shaped space is formed between the two. Rubber blocks (42,41,43) are bonded to the flanges in the three parallel parts of the space, the two outer (42,43) absorbing normal compression loads, whilst the third is compressed during rebounds. The edges of the free flanges are turned in (18,19) to resist lateral loads.</p> |
