<p>The hollow-sphere-type nodal piece, for use on tubular steel lattice structures, incorporates reinforcing units inside, in the plane of the main force line of two or more main connecting tubes diametrally joined to the housing shell. It is designed for production as a monolithic thin-walled piece of cast steel, with undiminished stability. The nodal piece is cast from steel and incorporates two or more diametral apertures (11), surrounded by attachment flanges (9) for the main connecting steel tubes (1, 2, 3) for extraction of the cast core. The reinforcing units are in the form of ring-shaped ribs (7, 8) cast onto it. There may be two pairs of mutually diametral apertures with axes intersecting at right angles, and with ribs in planes at right angles to these axes, also intersecting at right angles.</p> |
