Support frame for planning machine - has drilled square hollow sections sliding on vertical tubes and incorporating screw clamps

A rectangular horizontal frame is fabricated from an extruded section e.g. a square hollow section (20,22). A vertical hole (30) is located at each corner of the frame such that the latter can be fitted onto four tubular posts (32) and remain free to slide up or down. A screw clamp (34) fitted into a blanking end cap (36) in the square hollow sections, has a shoe (54) profiled to match the vertical tube. The shoe has teeth (62) which bite into the tube when the clamp is screwed in. ADVANTAGE - Simple construction with infinitely adjustable height and positive clamping.
