<p>Electrical component comprises electrical contacts e.g. plug or switch parts which are susceptible to corrosion or other surface changes and which are disposed in recesses or cavities which are open on one side. The recess or cavity is covered with a shutter of flexible insulating material, pref. foamed plastic e.g. polyurethane foam, so as to protect the contacts against the effects of the atmos., without obstructing insertion of further contacts. The shutter may be bonded non-detachably to the electrical component e.g. by adhesion, and pref. consists of a film with preformed weak zones and with indentations adapted to the component at the edge and covering layer of the film.</p> |
