Exhaust gas purification - by injecting pressurised oxidising agent into hot spot of exhaust gas pipe

A pressure vessel in the boot of a motor vehicle is filled with a liquid or gaseous oxidising agent (H2O2 and/or K MnO3 or ozone) which can be sprayed through a pipe into the hottest zone of the exhaust pipe. The exhaust pipe is fitted with swirl rings to assist mixing. An engine-driven compressor can produce a jet to assist injection. This greatly reduces the percentage of NOx and CO in the exhaust gases. Method is simple and can be applied to all internal combustion engines to meet the new anti-pollution regulations.
