<p>In a new biologically active wadding having a carrier to provide mechanical strength, there is applied to the carrier a biologically active coating contg. seeds, nutrients and, optionally, fillers, these being held together by means of a binder, and both the carrier and the coating are porous. The product can be applied to various surfaces requiring plant cover, whether for ornament, prevention of erosion, or use as e.g. a sports surface. The product is light in weight and easy to lay. In some cases it can even be laid on ground without any humus layer (e.g. on rock or on concrete). The new product contains no soil or humus. In certain cases, the product can promote the deposition and retention of dew, so that it is particularly suitable for use in arid regions.</p> |
