Locating and securing arrangement for sample containers - using holding plate with profiled holes and shaped stoppers in containers

Containers held in racks are secured and located in posn. by a holding-down plate with profiled holes which engage the container stoppers. These are flanged and shaped to suit the holes, and have a narrow mid-section for the insertion of sample syringe needles. For use with multiple sample containers which are filled from a travelling filling head by injection needle, partic. for sample collection in milk container vehicles. Accurate location of containers relative to filling head; lessened breakage of filling needles and damage to stoppers; and min. contamination of samples are achieved.
