The air volume meter to regulate fuel supply to an I.C. engine has a damper plate located inside the suction duct largely transverse to the direction of the suction flow and adjustable against spring pressure. This regulates fuel supply to the engine esp. in conjunction with a fuel injection unit operating intermittently. The walls within the adjustment area of the damper plate are shaped so that the opening cross section becomes wider exponential to the adjustment path of the damper plate as in 2065686. The flap (30) pref. made in one piece is connected to a pneumatically acting damper wing (47) and to a hub (48) which has a bearing on one side of a housing forming a section of the suction duct.
