The housing (2) of the fire-extinguishing alarm bomb resembles a tailor's dummy (1). It is made of cardboard or plastic and is filled with a powdery fire-extinguishing agent (3). An explosive charge (4) is located within the fire-extinguishing agent (3). Two fuse cords (5, 6) lead from the surface of the housing (2) to the explosive charge (4). So that the fire-extinguishing alarm bomb responds automatically when a fire breaks out, the explosive charge (4) is exploded by means of the burning fuse cords (5, 6). The fire-extinguishing agent (3) is thereby distributed in the burning room and the fire is extinguished. Moreover, the bang caused alerts the persons located in the vicinity. <IMAGE>
