1508697 Water soluble resins R H RUSSELL 2 June 1976 [6 June 1975] 22788/76 Heading C3R A process for preparing a water soluble resin comprises (a) reacting a glyceride oil with maleic acid, maleic anhydride or fumaric acid and (b) polyesterifying the product of (a) with a polyol and phthalic anhydride or isophthalic acid until the product is clear and has an acid value of 55 to 80. Water-thinnable paints can be made incorporating the above resins, an amine base and conventional paint additives. |
