In order to reduce the flammability rating of a spray jet from an aerosol container using an inflammable product and an inflammable propellant, the mixture is packaged in a dispensing container 1 whose discharge valve includes an outlet tube 14 communicating with a valve chamber 10 by way of at least one outwardly extending inlet 16b to the ejection duct formed along said outlet tube, whereby depression of the outlet tube exposes the said inlet end of the ejection duct to the valve chamber to permit discharge of the mixture, the valve including at least one orifice 18 for introducing additional gas into the valve chamber at the level of the said at least one inlet of the ejection duct in the depressed "valve open" position of the outlet tube to enhance the atomization of the spray. Any number of the additional gas intake orifices 18 may be provided around the valve chamber 10 provided they are all substantially at the correct level, and also any number of inlets 16b may be provided. The liquid product enters the valve chamber 10 axially by way of a dip tube 7 and a constriction 12 and becomes mixed with the additional gas immediately before entering the inlet 16b to the outlet tube 14. <IMAGE> |
