PURPOSE:To enhance recording speed, by heating a heater by the electric field of modulated waves in response with image signals from a recording electrode. CONSTITUTION:Heating resistor layer 18 prepared by vapor deposition of tantalum nitride or the like is formed on heat insulating layer 17 of a glass layer of sufficient thickness or the like to form heat holding drum 5. Alternating current voltage from high frequency soltage source 12 is modulated by recording signals applied to modulator 13, and the modulated a.c. voltage of frequency f and voltage v is applied to recording electrode 6 provided near drum 5. Heat proportional to the product of f and v2 is generated in layer 18 of drum 5 rotated by the electric field produced by electrode 6. As a result, heated images are recorded rapidly and in high responsivity on recording paper 10 by the heat emitted of layer 18 of drum 5 corresponding to the recording signals and recording speed can be easily enhanced. |
