<p>PURPOSE:To assure the constantly stable operation of a caliper, by supporting a floating caliper carrier to prevent the freezing of the caliper on a guide (support frame) and the invasion of snow or dusts into the carrier when it is cold. CONSTITUTION:A disc brake for railway vehicle comprises a disc 1 fitted on a wheel and the caliper 2 slidably attached to the support frame 3 through the floating caliper carrier 4. The carrier 4 consists of a cylinder 7, a hanger 10 provided with hanger cylinders 9 and with a box-shaped slider 8 inserted into the cylinder 7, buoy-up rubbers 11, and a snow and dust-proof disc cover 12 made of rubber and fitted on a side of the cylinder 7. The hanger 10 and the caliper support frame 3 are coupled to each other by engaging the hanger cylinders 9 with bolts extending through the top of the cylinder 7.</p> |
