<p>The pressure probe comprises a cylindrical housing containing an upper diaphragm made in one piece from a thick plate (2) whose smooth surface supports strain-gauge strips (4) operating as the electro-mechanical transducer. The underside of the plate has a space which is filled with mercury and into which is fixed a sealing cone (11) supporting capillary tubes (9, 10). One tube, used for filling (10), is bent through 180 deg. and passes upwards through a slot in the plate. It is sealed with a short length of wire and punched off. The second tube (9) extends downwards through the cylindrical body to the tip (21) of the probe. Temp. compensation for the mercury column is provided by thermo-elements connected into the strain-gauge bridge.</p> |
