The density of liquids is determined by weighing. To determine the density precisely, the liquid flows through the feed line (10) in the direction of the arrow (18) into the weighing container (1) and leaves the latter via the lines (11, 12) in the direction of the arrows (19). Solids contained in the liquid flowing in are predominantly entrained via the lower line (11) because of their higher specific gravity. On the other hand, the gas components rise upwards and are removed predominantly via the upper line (12). <IMAGE>
