<p>The delivery table has adjustable supports for the legs or feet of the mother, to allow delivery in the 'long bed' or 'short bed' manner, the latter with the legs drawn up and the calves resting horizontally on the supports. It comprises a plate with mattress between side sides of a frame which can be raised and lowered, together with a leg plate and mattress supported between two rails forming part of a rigid frame. Midway between the ends, the leg plate (24) has a slot-shaped drain opening or trough extending for most of its width, its mattress being divided into two sections (46, 48) with their adjacent ends on opposite sides of the opening. The outer one rests on a special mattress plate in turn resting on the leg plate, having a lifting device at the outermost end. This allows setting to the desired angle for drainage when the leg plate is retracted to as to bring the opening under the edge of the main plate.</p> |
