摘要 The invention relates to a display device (1) having a plurality of pixels (1a, 1b, 1c) that can be operated separately from one another, comprising a semiconductor layer sequence (3) for generating electromagnetic radiation. The semiconductor layer sequence (3) has a first semiconductor layer (31), an active layer (33) and a second semiconductor layer (35). The display device (1) also comprises a first contact structure (51) for contacting the first semiconductor layer (31) and a second contact structure (55) for contacting the second semiconductor layer (35). The first contact structure (51) has first contacts (51a, 51b, 5c) which can be operated separately from one another, and which each extend laterally and uninterrupted along the first semiconductor layer (31). The first contacts (51a, 51b, 5c) each delimit a pixel (1a, 1b, 1c) in a lateral manner with their contour. The semiconductor layer sequence (3) and the first contact structure (51) have at least one recess (7a, 7b) laterally bordering a respective pixel (1a, 1b, 1c), and which extends through the first contact structure (51), the first semiconductor layer (31) and the active layer (33), and into the second semiconductor layer (35). The second contact structure (55) has second contacts (55a, 55b) which extend from a side of the semiconductor layer sequence (3) facing the first contact structure (51) through the at least one recess (7a, 7b).
