Title coatings for plastic lenses contain siloxanes bearing 15% epoxide groups, and (fluoroalkyl) sulfonyl compds. or fuoroalkanesulfonic acid as a catalyst. Thus, distg. volati les at 80OC from a mixt of 3(2,3-epoxy) propoxydimethoxysilane 16.5g, EtOH 16.5g, and H2O 8g with 1 drop 0.1N HCl gives a prepolymer. A mixt. of this polymer 100, hydrolytic polymer of (EtO)4Si 300, and C4H9SO2NHCF3SO2 2g coated to the 0.2mm thickness on clear film was used for test.
