The cartridge consists of a plastics container which has a base and a wall. The wall has two arms with openings to allow the ribbon to be pulled out. The letter type wheel is mounted vertically in the space which is closed by the lid. The cartridge is mounted on the support plate of the machine by two lugs. The loose ribbon is stored in the space with inlet and outlet openings.
