A railway safety device enables continuous signal transfer between the railway vehicles and a fixed station via a data channel carrying a uniform series of signals permitting telegraphic exchanges. The vehicles on the section of track associated with a station receive selective signals from it. the station receives data enabling determination of the control information. The control does not require fixed vehicle separations but adjusts the separation distances to individual speeds and associated braking distances. A clear track device transfers the clear track signal to a vehicle via the station if appropriate.
