PORTABLE LIGHTING DEVICE WITH RECONFIGURABLE USER INTERFACE

A portable lighting device that provides different user interfaces that may be selected by the user. Each user interface may provide one or more operational modes, such as on mode, power save mode, strobe mode or momentary mode. After a user interface is selected, the user may select on of the operational modes. The portable lighting device may be a flashlight.

1. A portable lighting device, comprising:
a power source, a light source for producing a light output and an electrical circuit to couple the power source and the light source; a switch to open and close the electrical circuit; a plurality of operational modes provided by the light source to a device user, the modes arranged in a predetermined operable sequence; and electronics to control and access the modes manually operable by the device user to change the sequence of the modes.
