Automatic prepn and analysis - of serum specimens

Appts. is intended for the prepn. and analysis of a sample of serum coming from a specimen of blood or other body fluid. It comprises two transport wheels, one carrying cups contg. the specimens of serum and the other carrying a series of test tubes. Transfer heads distribute samples of the specimens into test tubes and add the necessary reagents. A soln. extraction head removes a sample of the mixture for optical analysis in a spectrophotometer or a fluorescence measuring instrument. The logic circuit controlling the sequence of the operations is contained in a box in the supper part of the appts. and can be programmed by a specially prepd. card introduced through a slot. The testing process is completely automatic and no operator is needed once the identification number buttons have been pressed and suitable parameters have been fixed.
