A dishwashing machine programme which comprises a wash cycle during which detergent is added to wash liquid in the tub of the machine, and the wash liquid is heated to a predetermined temperature and directed by means of a circulating pump onto articles to be washed in the tub, is characterised by the option of extending the period of operation of the circulating pump prior to draining off the wash liquid. The wash cycle may be preceded by a cold prewash cycle. A system for effecting the programme comprises timer motor 1, switches 4-8 actuatable by the motor, electrical resistance heating element 2, circulating pump motor 3, thermostat 10, and switch 9 operable manually. <IMAGE> |
