The milk boiler comprises a cylindrical jug or saucepan (1) with open top and closed bottom of suitable capacity for the volume of milk being sterilised. This jug is placed directly on the heat source. An inverted funnel shaped insert (5) is placed on the bottom of the jug with its wide end on the jug base, resting in a depression in the outer periphery of the jug base. The insert then tapers upwards to a cylindrical tube (3) which rises above the height of the rim of the jug. Several holes (4) are made in the tapered part of the insert. When the milk boils the froth rises up the tube and falls back onto the top of the milk in the jug which is drawn through the holes in the inverted funnel setting up a rapid circulation of the milk for quick through heating.
