The arrangement is intended for blocking the relative movement of two components (8,9) e.g. the rotatable (2) relative to the fixed (3) column of a radial drill (1). The columns are connected via a hydraulically pressurised bearing, with oil pockets (10 a,b,c) in one component (9) pressurised via ducts (11a,b,c). The two components are dimensioned such that their matching faces (14,15) clamp together when the bearing assembly is not pressurised, thus preventing relative rotation. The clamping force may be variable by hydraulically pressurising the outer component (8) via ducts (16) in a ring (13) arranged around it.
