<p>The device is used to centre and maintain a source-holder (P) fitted with an irradiating head (E) inside a cylindrical component (T), e.g. a pipe part, which must be tested by radiography. Three tightening modules (3) work simultaneously and are controlled by a single common controller (15) so that each module (3) pushes against the inner surface, then is locked inside the component (T) to be tested by radiography. The tightening modules (3) are pref. star mounted. In practice, each tightening module (3) comprises a sleeve (5) inside which a screw rotated by the controller (15) acts on a rod (7) to make it slide. This rod (7) is fitted with a locking pad (4). The screw is fitted with a bevel pinion engaged on a toothed wheel rotary with the controller (15).</p> |
