PURPOSE:To prevent dry-out of a heat transfer device where volatile liquid is enclosed in a hermetically sealed container to make use of phenomena of evaporation and condensation of liquid by a method wherein grooves are provided on entire surfaces of the inside walls of the hermetically sealed container on which porous strip material is closely adhered in spiral. CONSTITUTION:Multiple grooves 3 are longitudinally provided on the inside surfaces of the hermetically sealed container 1 and, in addition to these, strip wicks 4 are spirally placed on the grooves 3. These features can constitute a heat- transfer device where dry-out can hardly take place by a combination of strong capillarity of the strip wicks 4 and dry-out resistance of the grooves 3 so that normal functioning can be expected even when the device is used as top heat type. |
