Flameproofing compsn. for insulating and/or protecting electrical wires and cables comprises a mixt. of polyether urethane, a P-contg. flameproofing agent, Sb2O3 and an inorganic filler, pref. Mg silicate in amt. of 15-25 wt.%. The compsn. has high flash pt. (greater than 350 deg.C in closed space); high oxygen index (greater than 27); low aggressivity of combustion gases; does not propagate flame and satisfies the flammability tests of UL94).
