<p>Complementary profiles for supporting a thick window, esp. double glazing, comprise (1) a 'U' channel for enclosing the borders of the glazing but having a profiled rib on the outside of the base of the channel, and (2) an 'I' profile for lining the structural access to contain the window, sized so that the head of the 'I' can engage the rib on the channel as a snap-fit. The head of the 'I' profile projects sufficiently clear of the supporting structure to temporarily deflect sufficiently for installation of the window: pref. the channel is also located by an extension of the outer flange of the channel which rests on the end of the 'I' profile and encloses it behind a flexible seal.</p> |
