435,675. Revolving barrel locks. NEIMAN, A., 85, Hansa-Ring, Cologne, Germany. Jan. 14, 1935, No. 1205. Convention date, Jan. 16, 1934. [Class 44] [See also Group XXXI] A radial key-operated locking-bolt 1 for engaging the steering-column of motor and other vehicles has a projection 36 which engages one of three recesses 6, 6<1>, 6<11>, in the body of the lock, the bolt being urged by a spring 42 to rotate in a direction keeping the projection in its recess, thus providing means for preventing accidental displacement of the locking bolt, in addition to the key lock. A spring-pressed contact lever 30 has its nose lying in the path of the bolt and serves to cut off the ignition in two out of the three positions of the bolt. The bolt has a telescopic forward end 40 pressed out by an internal spring. The three positions effect respectively locking of the column and cut-off of the ignition, freeing of the column and cut-off of the ignition, and freeing of the column and making of the ignition circuit.
