The invention relates to a rolling stand for rolling bars or wire, having at least three adjustable rolls, which form a common groove opening and have cylindrical working faces. In a rolling stand of this kind, usable both in a roll block and individually, the rolls have hitherto been adjusted strictly in the radial direction and it was only possible to achieve a certain minimum groove opening which it was not possible to go beyond. Since the maximum groove opening is also limited, this gives a maximum stretching rate of the rolling stock of about 7. It is the object of the present invention to increase the stretching rate which can be achieved with such a rolling stand. For this purpose, individual rolls or all the rolls are adjusted obliquely to their working faces. In this way, it is possible to reduce the size of the groove opening to a considerable extent and even, if required, to nearly zero, resulting in a considerable increase in the stretching rate.
