摘要 The present disclosure is related to the production of a polymeric material by modifying polyurethane sponges polymerizing pyrrol and aniline on its surface by chemical oxidation to obtain polyurethane / poly (pyrrole-co-aniline) material (PU/(PPy-coPaNI)), which can be used for immobilizing microorganisms and used as a biofilter in the treatment of wastewater; either in reactors operating by batch or continuously (Packed-bed reactors) in aerobic, anaerobic systems or in a sequential anaerobic / aerobic combination. The most important advantage of this material is that high percentages of the chemical oxygen demand in short processing times are achieved, as well as a decrease in the fecal coliform concentration; therefore, depending on the treatment process the final treated water may meet Mexican official standards to be used in direct contact irrigation of agricultural crops.
