PURPOSE:To supply constant volume of molten metal for small-sized castings with high accuracy and to improve productivity by providing a stopper which is opened and closed alternately to the molten metal discharge port in the bottom of an insulating furnace and the charging port in the lower part of a constant volume chamber. CONSTITUTION:A stopper 9 is moved upward to close a discharge port 5 with a valve seat 91, then molten metal Y is held in an insulating furnace 1. When a rod 8 is pushed downward, the stopper 9 is moved downward to detach the seat 9a from the port 5 and to open the discharge port; at the same time, the valve seat 9b of the stopper 9 closes a charging port 7. Then the molten metal Y in the furnace 1 flows through the port 5 into a constant volume chamber 6. In this time the air in the chamber 6 is discharged through a communicating pipe 10 into the cavity 11 in the furnace 1 and at the point of the time when the molten metal Y is filled in the constant volume chamber and the pipe 10, again the rod 8 is pulled up. Then, the stopper 9 is moved upward to detach the seat 9b from the port 7 and to open the charging port; at the same time, the valve seat 9a closes the port 5. Thus the molten metal Y in the chamber 6 and the pipe 10 is run out through the port 7 and is charged into the casting mold. |
