PURPOSE:To reduce a piezoelectric body substrate in size by providing a convolution signal lead-out electrode so as it turns around the front and back sides of a piezoelectric body. CONSTITUTION:Two surface acoustic wave signal of angular frequency a energized by reed screen type transducers 2 and 3 are reduced in beam width by beam width compressors 4 and 5. Those two surface acoustic wave signals passed through the beam compressors 4 and 5 are inputted to the convolution signal lead-out electrode 6 from the opposite end surface. This electrode 6 also functions as a waveguide for the surface acoustic waves. The surface acoustic waves propagate in this waveguide. Then, both signals are superposed upon each other. A convolution output is generated by the nonlinear effect of the piezoelectric material. Consequently, a programmable correlator necessary for spread spectrum communication is realized easily. |
