The X-ray beam collimator is intended in particular for use in cephalostatic radiography and consists of a cylindrical housing which can be connected to a X-ray generator and which focuses the X-rays. A diaphragm element has an opening, which is transparent to X-rays and is intended to constrict the beam bundle to form a cone of beams of desired size and shape. The diaphragm element (3) is arranged rotatably in a cross-sectional plane of the housing (1), around the axis of symmetry of the housing, and is mounted eccentrically relative to the housing (1) for a rotary movement, in such a way that the centre of the opening (P1) is displaceable onto the axis (P) of symmetry of the housing or at a distance therefrom, with respect to the opening (7), in order to constrict the beams. <IMAGE>
