PURPOSE:To obtain superior magnetic characteristics over the whole objective frequency band in a thin film magnetic head laminated by plural ''Sendust'' films and nonmagnetic insulating films alternately between two nonmagnetic substrates by setting up the thickness of the two kinds of films to a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The ''Sendust'' films 2, 2', 2'' are laminated between the nonmagnetic substrates 1, 1' through the nonmagnetic insulating films 3, 3' and the film 2'' is adhered to the substrate 1' by a bonding agent 4 to form core half bodies 6, 6', and then the core half bodies 6, 6' are united through a gap spacer 5 to form the thin film magnetic head. The substrates 1, 1' consist of Mn-Ni oxide, the films 3, 3' consist of SiO2 films and lead glass of low-melting point is used for the bonding agent. The whole length from the film 2 to the film 2'' becomes the track width of the thine film magnetic head and the head gap with the prescribed azimuth angle for the track width is formed by the gap spacer 5. The film thickness of the films 2, 2', 2'' and the films 3, 3'' is set up so as to obtain superior magnetic characteristics in the whole frequency band. Namely, the film thickness of the ''Sendust'' film and that of the nonmagnetic insulating film are set up 1-10mum and 0.01-0.2mum respectively. |
