An arrangement for bundling machines for printed items 29 comprises on the one hand a number of conveyor belts 30, which run on mutually parallel paths adjacent to one another and are provided for feeding the printed items, and on the other hand at least one straightening or jogger arrangement with at least one jogger plate 31, which is arranged so as to move to and fro essentially in a direction at right angles to the conveyor belts in a closed path and in this connection presses against one edge of the printed items 29 for the purpose of aligning them in such a way that their longitudinal or transverse direction is as close as possible to parallel to the movement paths of the conveyor belts. For the purpose of avoiding the risk of the jogger plates 31, during their inward movement, interfering with and damaging the conveyor belts, that portion bearing the printed items of at least some of the conveyor belts 30 is supported by a raisable and lowerable sliding strip 43, by means of the lowering of which those conveyor belt portions which lie directly in front of the movement path of the jogger plate 31 are lowered to a level below the lower edge of the jogger plate. <IMAGE> |
