PURPOSE:To improve thermal efficiency and to allow a compact size by disposing a separator and a permeable screen above a fluid layer to prevent flown particles from moving upward. CONSTITUTION:A free board 11 is placed at an extremely low position between a fluid layer 4 and a Raschig ring-filled layer 10, and there a separator 12 is disposed to prevent flown particles 3a from the fluid layer from moving upward. The underside of the Raschig ring-filled layer 10 is covered by a permeable screen to prevent said particles 3a from entering into the Raschig ring-filled layer 10. Therefore, although the free board between the fluid layer 3 and the Raschig ring-filled layer 10 has been made very low, intrusion or settling of flown particles 3a into the Raschig ring-filled layer 10 can be prevented. As a result, the hight of a heat exchanger can be made low in proportion to the reduced hight of the free board 11 between the fluid layer 3 and the Raschig ring-filled layer 10, and so the heat exchanger can be made compact. |
