The invention relates to headlights for all road-going vehicles using dipped beams. It consists in vertically positioning the spoon 2 and in fixing a shield 3 in front of this. A simple method consists in fixing the shield 3 while bending the end pieces over the collar. An industrial method consists in fixing this shield 3 by automatic welding. The application is of relevance to all road vehicles, heavy goods vehicles, private vehicles, two-wheeled vehicles, etc. travelling at night. <IMAGE>
