The process for the manufacture of wool-like artificial films described in the parent Specification, according to which newly spun, undried, artificial fibres of regenerated cellulose, characterized by a high affinity for substantive dye-stuffs, freed from metallic compounds, acids or sulphur, and if desired bleached and washed, are treated with organic liquids capable of dissolving water until only the so-called molecular water remains, is applied to spun material obtained by using a viscose having a degree of ripeness corresponding with a salt point of 0,1--0,2 and lower. In an example, viscose is ripened for 3 days at 20 DEG C. after it has attained a salt point of 0,1, is spun, treated in thread or skein form to remove acid and sulphur and washed. p Excess water is removed by squeezing or centrifuging and the material is treated in counter-current with aqueous methyl alcohol ranging from 35--92 per cent. Adhering alcohol is removed by pressing or centrifuging. The alcohol after use is recovered. |
