A hard-silver ceramic for decorative purposes is indicated, which comprises 60 to 99.9% by weight of titanium carbide and 0.1 to 40% by weight of chromium carbide, expressed by the two-component composition, the said ceramic being substantially free of a binder metal. This ceramic has an excellent silver colour and outstanding silver gloss and shows excellent corrosion resistance, hardness and strength.
