PURPOSE:To enhance the economy of deburring, by providing first and second deburring machines so that deburring is carried out, simultaneously on both main and auxiliary transfer pathes so that both deburring machines are used for deburring both long and short length steel materials. CONSTITUTION:Second and first deburring machines 25, 10 are provided along a main steel transfer path 3, and a second deburring machine 25 is provided along an auxiliary transfer path 21. In the case of a short-length steel material the deburring machine 25 is moved in the direction D, and a long-length steel material 1 is cut off by a long-length steel cutter 5, and is then cut by a short-length steel cutter 6 to cut off short-length steel materials 2. After the leading end of the steel material 2 is deburred by the first deburring machine 10, the steel material 2 is shifted onto the auxiliary transfer path 21 on which the other end of the steel material 2 is deburred by the second deburring machine 25.
