A greenhouse or similar hall space with at least one supply opening and one outflow opening for air and a method for conditioning the climate in such greenhouses or the like, in particular in desert regions, are to afford a possibility for air conditioning of high efficiency. Additionally, an economical cleaning of the external air in the greenhouse interior is to be achieved. This is brought about in that the air is supplied in the floor region of the greenhouse and leaves the interior, thus provided with overpressure, in the roof region. The conditioning of the interior consequently takes place by means of rising cooling air with the side walls closed; the plant plane on the floor of the greenhouse is provided with adiabatically cooled air which is warmed as it rises and is extracted at a sufficient vertical distance from that plant plane. The correspondingly equipped greenhouse has in the floor region mouths of at least one air supply pipe and in the roof region the outflow opening(s). The external air is conducted through a washing space upstream of the air supply pipe, which the air leaves in an aerosol-free manner.
