The invention relates to an electromagnetic trip 38 intended to cooperate with the mechanism of a low-voltage circuit breaker in order to cause instantaneous tripping when a short-circuit current appears. The trip 38 includes a ferromagnetic yoke 40 in the shape of a U surrounding a control coil 42 mounted on a fixed core 44. The contact arm 23 is connected to the bimetallic strip 36 by means of a continuous flexible conductor 62 whose intermediate portion is wound around the core 44 to form the coil 42. The latter comprises one or more turns of the conductor 62 depending on the tripping characteristics. <IMAGE>
