The risks of fire in communal premises and, in particular, in schools require furniture, still too often made from wood, to be produced from non-flammable products. The present patent provides a solution with regard to table tops which can be made from a laminated framework consisting of a glass-wool or rock-wool mattress inserted between layers of asbestos cement.
