The flower support manufacturing method consists of applying a thermoplastics sheet (4) to the underside of a shaped foam block and deforming the plastics with heat so that it conforms to the shape of the foam. It is allowed to cool and then the excess plastics is trimmed away. The method is carried out using a bench (5) with perforations (6), on which the foam base is placed, a heater (7) above the bench, and a suction chamber (8) beneath it. The outer and inner surfaces of the foam shape can be supported by a wire mesh, and the plastics foam can be moulded to create a space between the foam and the mesh.
