The invention relates to a system for covering the roof by means of metal panels having the appearance of traditional covering means. The panels, which accurately imitate the main types of tiles and slates both in their shape and in their colour, are assembled by longitudinal superposition and lateral interlocking. Firm coupling and fixing to the framework are obtained via tabs 3 and slots 4 which are made respectively by cutting in the rim 2a of an L-shaped part 2 and by punching into the bottom of a U-shaped section 1. Main applications : covering of second homes in mountainous regions, and of agricultural and industrial buildings. <IMAGE>
